Born in Paterson, NJ, Ron Cephas Jones acting career began in the early 1990s. Although he was primarily a stage actor, Jones made regular on screen appearances in guest roles. In 1996, he appeared in "New York Undercover" (Fox 1994-98) and "Law & Order" (NBC, 1990-2010), then in the Spike Lee film "He Got Game" (1998) starring Denzel Washington. 2012 was a busy one for Jones, appearing in at least three plays, including "Storefront Church" written and directed by John Patrick Shanley and starring Giancarlo Esposito at the Atlantic Theatre, and the lead role in the Public Theater's Mobile Shakespeare Unit version of Shakespeare's "Richard III." The stripped down 95 minute version of the play put up each performance in a different venue around New York City: a church, a Senior Center, Riker's Island, to name a few. The next year, Jones landed his first recurring role, on "Low Winter Sun" (AMC, 2013). Jones' greatest exposure to date would come in 2015, when he appeared in the hit show "Mr. Robot" (USA, 2015-) as a member of the mysterious hacker organization F Society. In 2016, Jones appeared in two more high profile series: "The Get Down" (Netflix, 2016- ), Baz Luhrmann's musical chronicle of the birth of rap and hip hop; and "This Is Us" (NBC, 2016- ) a comedy-drama hybrid about a racially-mixed set of siblings.
